Grant Awards - LACWMA American Reinvestment and Recovery Act Funding

Los Angeles County Weed Management Area American Reinvestment and Recovery Act Funding:
Prevention, Early Detection, and Eradication of Noxious and Invasive Weed Populations on Non-federal Public and Private Lands near Forested Lands

Eight proposals were submitted to the Los Angeles County Weed Management Area (LACWMA) for the ninety thousand dollars in funding made available through the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA).  Proposals were reviewed and scored (based on criteria defined in the original RFP) independently by a subcommittee of eight LACWMA members. The two highest ranked proposals were awarded funding:

  1. Malibu Creek Enhancement Project (fully funded):    $30,000
  2. Tejon Ranch Early Detection and Rapid Response (partially funded):   $60,000

Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals.  The WMA recognizes the coordination and time that goes into putting together proposal requests.  Please be sure and register online at www.lacountywma.org to be notified of any future funding that may become available.
